Prior to joining Portfolio Builders, Richard was a financial adviser for the Co-operative Insurance Society, Coventry area in the United Kingdom where he managed over 2,000 clients, both households and small businesses.

At 22, Richard was the youngest Bank Manager the Co-operative Bank had ever appointed. Between 2003 and 2004, Richard led the Wolverhampton Branch where he managed a team of fifteen staff and was responsible for business development and customer service. He changed the branch’s fortunes through his leadership, accomplishing a move from bottom to third position in the region for sales achievements within his first six months.

Richard joined Portfolio Builders in 2006 after an extremely successful career as a financial adviser and Branch Manager within the Co-operative Bank. He has financial qualifications from both the Singapore College of Insurance and the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.

His achievements at the bank were based on his initial success as a personal adviser, recognised as the number one adviser in the UK, and later as the Assistant Manager for the Coventry Branch, where he successfully led his team to second place in the UK for sales achievements.

Richard has achieved high passes in three modules for financial advisory, collective investment schemes and life insurance at the Singapore College of Insurance and attained financial planning certificates I, II and III and a Level 3 certificate in mortgage advice from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK. He graduated from John Cleveland College in Hinckley, Leicester. He has a passion for music and is a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
